Why is the sky blue?

This Blog will start as an experiment and we'll see where it takes us. I call this an "Inverse Blog"! I will only pose questions, some more serious than others. The internet community is invited to give answers through the comments for each post. So the main content for this Blog should come from you, the audience. Actually, it's not blue. At night it's black.
When you fly at sunset or sunrise you can see all the colors of the rainbow in the sky.
When you lived in Antwerp you never even thought of asking that question. Then the question was "what's blue" ?
I think the problem is I'm not a mac user that's why I can not answer to this question...
(I'm referring to the large promotion Macintosh did when they tried to convince people that "Sherlock" can answer those question,...Unfortunately,I'm feeling that without a mac I won't be able to provide you with answers to your questions...I'll still try though,... :) )
